Description
To provide skills to research and select the most appropriate procedure for assaying, alloys, steels and ores, to conduct such assays, and to report all significant findings.
Range of Variables
This module is designed for advanced, diploma level learners and around project work. It may be delivered on- or off-the-job, or as a combination of both.
Where the project is undertaken on-the-job:
- the workplace supervisor will need to be aware of their responsibilities as expressed in the VEETAC publication Competency Standards for Assessors and liaise regularly with their counterpart in TAFE
- initially, the workplace and TAFE supervisors and learner should meet together to clearly establish their respective roles and responsibilities.
These should be recorded in the learning contract
- the workplace supervisor will be required to verify that the learner actually performed the work documented in the report.
