Description
To introduce learners to the structures and functions of the human body. It is recognised that such knowledge is based on Western scientific constructs, however, an understanding of basic anatomy and physiology may be necessary for health professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Learners may bring to this module differing beliefs about the human body based on a traditional Aboriginal world view. It is important that this belief system is not devalued.
This module contains information concerning both male and female reproductive systems. Some learners may consider it to be culturally inappropriate to study information concerning the opposite sex.
