To teach the scientific principles
related to electrical systems used on
motor vehicles, and thus provide a
basis on which further electrical
studies in this area will be founded.

A pass is required in BOTH
sections.

Theory

A written examination of two hours duration, consisting of:

- A compulsory Mathematics section (20% of the paper)
- Questions examining the remainder of the syllabus (80% of
the paper)

(20 + 80 = 100 x 0.8 = 80%)

Assignments

- Assignments/projects as set by the lecturer (100 x 0.2 = 20%)

Students must achieve a pass (i.e. 50%
of the allocated marks) in both the
Mathematics section of the exam paper
and the assignment/project work to be
eligible for a PASS in this subject.
If either section is failed, a FAIL
shall be shown, irrespective of the
marks achieved in the other section of
the exam paper.
