The aim of the subject is to develop
the student's understanding of the
structure of woven fabrics and to
enable the creation of original fabrics
for the fashion industry.

Internal Assessment 100%
Folio will be assessed on quality of
weaving, evenness of beat and
selvedges, originality, suitability of
yarns chosen and overall appearance of
samples. Particular attention will be given to preparation of warp and
dressing of loom.
Length of woven fabric and folio of
samples 70% Class assignment work 30%
Finished fabric piece will be assessed
on overall appearance, originality, use
of colour, technical skill.
NOTE:
A minimum of 50% of the finished piece must be woven during class hours.
