Description
To introduce learners to the safe and effective use of computer-interfaced
equipment and dataloggers as part of laboratory instrumentation.
Range of Variables
This module has the capacity to be delivered either on-the-job or by a variety
of modes off-the-job.

For full-time learners, the module hours should be ideally sequenced over a
semester period to ensure adequate time for skill acquisition. In order to
facilitate learner access to instruments, providers may need to consider the
option of running several instrumentation modules in parallel, thereby enabling
small numbers of learners to access instruments as required.

Where delivery is via block release, learners require prior access to open
learning materials covering all theoretical and safety aspects. It is further
recommended that delivery does not exceed 10 hours per week, so that learners
have sufficient time for skill acquisition.

The delivery strategy adopted for this module should encourage self-direction
in learners. One way of achieving this is to adopt a problem-solving approach
