To recognise and understand some of the key
concepts, and significant factors, of the
institutions and structures of Australian government
and politics.

To be provided with a basic understanding of the
origins and operation of the legal environment in
which they live.

To observe and analyse media announcements, and be
able to speak and write about the government and
legal framework of Australia.

To develop an appreciation of the all-embracing
nature of the political and legal structures
governing their activities.
