To enable students to:
- estimate quantities of materials, using standard industry
methods.
- apply the principles and methods of costing of materials
and labour.
- demonstrate the ability to interpret landscape plans and
sketches.
- describe the methods used for estimating costs of hiring,
operation and work outputs from landscape machinery.
- prepare specifications and Bills of Quantities.
- demonstrate skills in the application of tendering
processes and principles.
- use computer software packages to aid in costing and
estimating.
