Description
To provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required to perform
correct sampling, sample preconcentration, drying and preparation procedures,
and to perform basic analytical procedures in the field.
Although this module is the first of a sequence involving Field Sampling and
Field Analytical Techniques, it can stand alone.
This module applies the knowledge and skills contained in the module AAA642
Statistics and Methods of Sampling and deals with the more practical aspects of
sampling in the field. Applications cover the two distinctly different field
environments of exploration and mine grade control activities.

Range of Variables
This module may be delivered either on or off-the-job.
This is a practical module with significant laboratory activity, so an
appropriate delivery strategy is necessary to integrate knowledge and manual
skills. Delivery strategies will need to take account of the need for small
groups of learners per instrument and the need to access portable computer and
other data logging devices.
