To provide students with practical skills to meet
the requirements of AS1796-1983, "SAA Welding
Certification Code", Certificates: 1, 1E, 2, 3, 3E,
4, 5, 7, 8 or 9.

Internal Practical Assessment 100%
Practical examination of 1.5 to 3.5 hours duration,
depending on the type of certificate attempted.
Practical tests are to be conducted in accordance
with Sections 4 and 5 of the Code (AS1796-1983).
For a pass, the candidate shall obtain at least 65%
of the total number of marks allocated to each test,
in accordance with Section 5, Rule 5.1.2 of the
Code.
Practical examination of 1.5 to 3.5 hours duration,
depending on the type of certificate attempted.
