Description
To provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills required
to administer an Human Services Organisation (HSO) including:
- Managing personnel within an HSO.
- Managing the services provided by an HSO.
- Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of an HSO.
- Planning and executing change within an HSO.

Range of Variables
This module should be delivered in a combination of classroom teaching,
independent study and group learning. Groups of no more than six (6) should be
formed to work the assessment methods into an ongoing project of administering
an hypothetical HSO.
Integral to the Diploma of Human Services, this module is intended to provide
advanced training for learners who plan to work at a higher level in the human
service field. The module focuses on the needs of learners who are preparing
for employment which requires a level of planning, decision making and
supervision (eg Co-ordinators/Managers of an HSO; supervisors of staff,
learners and volunteers).
To be delivered by Lecturers who have extensive experience working in the Human
Services industry preferably at a management level, and who possess a tertiary
qualification of Associate Diploma/Diploma or higher.
Recognition of Prior Learning:
