Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, set up and operate a small scale (not to exceed 32V), stand-alone, photovoltaic (PV) energy system with battery storage.
It requires the ability to identify the relevant Australian Standards and clean energy guidelines for renewable energy installation, plan the installation including site assessment, select components, set up and operate the system including storage capability.
The unit applies to a person preparing to work in the renewable energy or electrotechnology industry and is suitable for use in a secondary school program with an appropriate level of supervision and support.
No occupational licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
