Description
To provide learners with a knowledge of illnesses common in their communities. In keeping with a Primary Health Care approach, learners will develop an insight of these health problems from both a population (macro), environmental and individual (micro) level.
It is important that learners have a knowledge of the causes of illnesses which they will come in contact with in their role as Aboriginal Primary Health Care Workers. Therefore, learners should be able to recognise signs, symptoms, causes, significance and treatments for common illnesses as well as develop preventive strategies.
