Description
To provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to safely and accurately
perform basic routine analysis and user maintenance with furnamce atomic
absorption spectrophotometers.
Range of Variables
This module has the capacity to be delivered either on-the-job or by a variety
of modes off-the-job.

For full-time learners, the module hours should be ideally sequenced over half
a semester to ensure adequate time for skills acquisition and intermodule
reinforcement. In order to facilitate learner access to specialist
instruments, providers should consider the option of running several
instrumentation modules in parallel, thereby enabling small numbers of learners
to access instruments as required.

Learners with concurrent relevant workplace experience should be considered for
recognition of prior learning, and teaching strategies adjusted accordingly.

Where delivery is via block release, learners require prior access to open
learning materials covering all theoretical and safety aspects to atomic
absorption spectrophotometry operation.
