Description
To enable students to assimilate and retain the
technical skills, practical experience and basic
knowledge required to participate in the public
performance of an Aboriginal corroboree.
To give students the opportunity to focus their
abilities on one of the corroboree components: music
(didgeridoo, tapping sticks, tapping boomerangs,
drums), song or dance.
To allow students to participate in ensemble work in
a traditional context: as one of a number of
musicians, as one of a group of singers, or as one
of a group of dancers.
To enable students to gain experience in mounting a
traditional performance in public entirely on their
own.
To encourage students to develop a capacity for self-criticism, for
post-performance evaluation, and a readiness to edit own work.
