To give students the necessary knowledge and skills
to assist the veterinary surgeon with anaesthesia.

To give students an overview of the care,
maintenance and use of anaesthetic equipment.

To give students a basic understanding of fluid
therapy.

Students must pass BOTH sections.

- One-hour end-of-semester examination consisting of:

o Short answers 25% o Paragraphs and short
essay 25%

Internal Assessment 50%

- One test (similar format to final exam) 10%
- Four practical exercises (based on Topics 4, 5, 7, 9, 10
and 11) - 10% each 40%
