The following delivery methods are suggested as those most likely to achieve
the module outcomes:

Assessment is the gathering of evidence of successful performance. The
assessment should focus on the learning outcome not on individual assessment
criteria. Assessment criteria are indicators of successful performance of the
learning outcome.

A holistic approach to assessment is desirable, ie. a single assessment
instrument may assess more than one learning outcome. For example, a workplace
project may assess both the planning and execution of a task(s).

Examples of assessment instruments include, but are not restricted to:

- practical demonstration/tests
- observation checklists
- oral questioning
- projects
- portfolios
- peer assessment
- simulations
- complete documentation

Results will be expressed as Pass (P) or Not Complete (NC).

The competencies apply to workplace activities associated with the receiving
and sorting of laundry products. Work may involve individual and team-related
activities.

Standards of safety, housekeeping and quality of work are as specified by
machine/equipment manufacturers, regulatory authorities, the workplace,
Australian Standard (AS) 4146 and (AS) 3902.

Laundry or operating procedures can relate to:

- handling of foreign objects (scalpels, needles, etc.)
- handling of products (personal linen, infectious linen, etc.)
- dealing with lost property
- manual handling of laundry products

Manuals and specifications include coding procedures.

Data recording can relate to keyboard or manual recording applications.

Equipment can include:

- towel-winding machines
- typing machines
- marking equipment
- overhead rail and bagging systems
- conveyor systems
- automatic counting system.
