Description
To gain an appreciation of the important role which
credit and credit management play in the economy.

To understand the principles of credit management
and to develop skills in the application of
appropriate procedures.

To be able to formulate credit policies which are
responsive to change and can successfully deal with
different entities and trading structures.

To be familiar with relevant legislation
particularly in relation to insolvency.

To develop students' interest in the subject and
build an awareness of the career options in the
field of credit management.

To assist Associate Diploma of Business (Credit
Management) graduates to meet the academic entrance
requirements for membership of The Australian
Institute of Credit Management.

Internal Assessment 30%
Examination 70%

A pass in both components is required.

The internal assessment should consist of at least
two items being a project and/or case studies. This
assessment should emphasise the practical
application of credit principles, procedures and the
law. It should also require students to examine and evaluate current
practices in the field of credit management.

Examination - One three hour written examination.
The Australian Companies and Securities Legislation
CCH (or equivalent) and the Bankruptcy Act may be
taken into the exam.
