Description
This module will enable learners to apply previously developed generic skills
to the analytical chemistry requirements of the workplace.

The learner will examine the role of technical support and interpret and
perform standard testing procedures typical of the industry. The validity of
the link between chemical testing and ultimate performance or quality of the
product will be examined.
Range of Variables
This module is best delivered off-the-job because of the requirement to cover
skills relevant to many industrial sectors.

Educational delivery should occur via a minimum of 4 hours per contact session
to allow sufficient time for learners to access resources, conduct integrated
activities, and to permit skills to be practical and assessed.

Learners should anticipate that an additional two hours study per contact
session will be required to complete assignments, reports and general revision.

For full-time learners, the module should be delivered over a single semester
and classroom and laboratory activities should be integrated. In the absence
of concurrent workplace experience, it is essential that the teaching
strategies allow adequate time for skills acquisition and inter-module
reinforcement.
