Description
To provide the learner with a knowledge of structural principles as they apply in the building process in order that they may communicate effectively with building design professionals, and develop sound and safe practices in relation to structural procedures on site.
Range of Variables
This module provides for off-the-job training in a variety of modes.
Where possible, practical work involving experiment, observation and use of models is seen as preferable to a highly theoretical approach.
Mathematics should be used to support principles rather than to define them and should be at a level consistent with the background of the typical student in the course.
Some areas of content may be common to more than one learning outcome and therefore integration may be appropriate.
