Description
Learners should be able to:
- describe the principles of bushland regeneration
- describe the impact of disturbances on natural regeneration
- identify a range of plant communities
- identify weeds
- perform appropriate weed control measures safely
- perform direct seeding by hand
- plant out containerised stock
- construct fences, barriers, access ways
- perform erosion control
- collect seed and handle appropriately.

Range of Variables
Delivery may be made using an appropriate combination of classroom mode,
outdoor field situations, excursions and flexible delivery self-paced package -
Managing Perth’s Bushlands Workbook.
Learners will require access to the tools, seedlings, seeds, herbicides, spray
equipment, fencing materials, plant guards, stakes, mulch, etc as listed in the
Learning Outcomes.
Learners will require easily accessible areas of bushland for the practical
exercises.
Learners will require access to a nursery facility to grow seedlings.
To allow credible competency-based training and assessment, the class size MUST
NOT exceed fifteen learners.

The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.
This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
learner achievement.

- weed collection assignment
- record book of practical activities
- short oral/written tests
- practical activities on sites.
Standard 75% of Assessment.
The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.
