Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required by EAL learners who have had little or no formal education to plan and implement language learning strategies to support language development in a formal learning environment with the assistance of a support person.
The outcomes described in this unit relate to:
- the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). They contribute to the achievement of ACSF indicators of competence for Learning and Oral Communication at Pre level 1 and Level 1
and
- the ISLPR (International Second Language Proficiency Ratings) descriptors for Speaking and Listening. Not applicable to this unit.
This unit applies to learners who need to develop planning skills for language learning as a foundation for independent learning.
No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
