Description
To provide learners with the skills to safely use common chemical laboratory
equipment and reagents in the accurate preparation and analysis of biological
samples.

The module is designed for those learners who either work, or wish to work, in
any of the following laboratory environments: animal technology, biological
sciences or medical technology.
Range of Variables
This module is delivered off-the-job.

It is intended that this module would be delivered over a semester, as an
integrated theory/practical class. As the major component of this module
involves the development and practice of practical skills, at least 36 hours of
learner’s time should be spent performing practical exercises. A 10:1 learner
teacher ratio is recommended.
