Description
To develop simpler accident prevention and loss
control techniques in relation to human factor.
To communicate accident and loss control information
to those directly involved.
To measure and evaluate the effectiveness of
accident and loss control systems.
Specific Aims:
To indicate the importance and relevance of human
factors in accident causation, and to apply that
knowledge to accident prevention problems in man-
machine systems.
To indicate the need for and application of
emergency procedures, and the need for an content of
an emergency plan.
To develop and apply the principles of an accident
prevention program.
To indicate the various communication techniques to
be applied in training, education, reporting and
management motivating aspects of safety.
To outline the concepts of "risk management" and
"total loss control" and to place "safety" in
context within these concepts.
To state the limitations of existing knowledge and
to outline future possible trends.
