Description
To provide student with knowledge necessary to
advise bride on choice of wedding bouquets, church
and reception decorations.
To develop the students' awareness of suitability of
different forms, colours and textures of flower and
plant materials for specific dress fabrics and
styles, seasons and venues.
To ensure student can record necessary wedding
details, order flowers and materials required, and
accurately price the wedding.
To develop the students' artistic and technical
proficiency in the design and creation of wedding
bouquets and arrangements in a comprehensive range
of styles, including the lastest fashion trends.

Weekly assessments of practical work from the seven
design groups. 60%
A minimum of fourteen exercises to be completed in
specified time to industry standards.
Assignment
Design and draw ONE traditional and ONE modern- styled wedding. Provide
details of dress fabric and styles, and plant/flower material and designs, for:
- Bride's bouquet and headdress
- Bridesmaid's bouquet and headdress
- Flowergirl's flowers
- Church and pew decorations
- Reception table decorations
- Detailed costing of items.
It is necessary to relate choice of flowers and
bouquet designs to the type and colour of dress
fabric and style of gown. Church and reception
flowers must also co-ordinate. 10%
Written examination of two hours' duration
(Internal) 30%
Students are required to obtain a minimum of 40% in
Sections 2 and 3, and a minimum of 50% in Section 1,
to gain a subject pass.
