To enable the student to relate a person with a disability the disabled person
to a family unit, a disadvantaged group and the general community.

To understand the effects of separation on the family and on a person with a
disability.

To recognise the impact on the family of having a member with a disability.

To recognise the basic legal and moral rights of a person with a disability.

To identify professional roles and legal and moral rghts and responsibilities
of direct service providers.
