Seven (7) units of competency are required to complete this qualification, in addition to the required units of competency from:
- Certificate IV in Textile Production or
- Certificate IV in Clothing Production or
- Certificate IV in Footwear Production or
- Certificate IV in Hide Skin and Leather

At least three (3) units must be selected from the Product Development and/or the Production field aligned to the Diploma of Textiles Clothing and Footwear.
Put to two (2) units must be selected from any field as listed in the Diploma of Textiles Clothing and Footwear
Up to two (2) units may be selected from any field aligned to:
- Certificate IV and/or Advanced Diploma from the TCF Training Package Qualifications and/or
- Certificate IV and/or Advanced Diploma from another Training Package Qualification.
There are no prerequisites or corresponding units as listed in the 'Units of Competency' for this qualification. However each available unit of competency has significant relevant underpinning knowledge and skills that need to be taken into account when developing training programs.
