Shot Firing

To be designated/appointed under any statutory requirements as a shot firer, units of competency should be demonstrated to meet the State/Territory licensing requirements. State licensing requirements need to be confirmed by the Registered Training Organisation delivering and/or assessing the competency.

A minimum of 18 years is applied to person wishing to enter this industry. To obtain a Heavy Rigid licence to operate machinery, a person needs to be over 20 years of age.

This training program is a representation of the qualification code MNM20205 taken from the Metalliferous Mining Training Package MNM05 which should be consulted for full description of requirements. MNM05 is endorsed until 31 January 2008.
