To achieve Certificate III the candidate must have demonstrated competence in all nine (9) core units and seven (7) elective units for Certificate III of which:

- three (3) units are selected from the Certificate II elective units bank
- three (3) units are selected from the Group A elective units
- one (1) unit is selected from the Group B elective units bank.
