Description

The public safety industry operates through discrete sectors. Policing qualifications have been developed to set agreed minimum standards for police personnel that should be contextualised within the specifics of each police jurisdiction/agency/organisation's policies and procedures.

This qualification allows for the attainment of skills in undercover operations while also specialising as either an operative or controller. The qualification covers skills that allow police staff to employ broad knowledge and highly skilled practice in surveillance within a covert policing environment.

The operative specialisation covers skills that allow police staff to employ broad knowledge and highly skilled practice in undercover operations within a covert operative environment.

The controller specialisation covers skills that allow police staff to employ broad knowledge and highly skilled practice in undercover operations within a covert controller environment.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Additional qualification advice
The testamur should be titled: Advanced Diploma of Undercover Operations (field of study) i.e. Advanced Diploma of Undercover Operations (Operative).

Schedule
Packaging Rules
Ten (10) units of competency are required for this qualification:
- eight (8) core units
- two (2) elective units

Specialisation
The candidate is required to choose either the operative or controller specialisation:
- two (2) elective units from Group A for an operative specialisation
- two (2) elective units from Group B for a controller specialisation
1. Core Units

All eight (8) units must be completed.

2. Group A Operative Specialisation

Two (2) units must be completed from Group A for an operative specialisation.

Two (2) units must be completed from Group B for a controller specialisation.
