**CORE** As indicated in the Metal and Engineering policy document as part of the Metals and Engineering Training Package qualifications, this qualification follows the same packaging rules as the Engineering Certificate III "Trade" qualifications (Compulsory Foundation and Core units, plus 40 points (360 hours) of stream units, plus 36 points (324 Hrs) of specialisation elective units). The requirement for the awarding of a Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction is demonstrated competency in units to a minimum points value of 96 (864 Hrs) according the the structure listed below.

MANDATORY ELECTIVES : - Select 40 points (360 Hrs) in units drawn from the Marine Craft Construction units stream Specialisation band A units as follows (pre-requisite units points value may be included in the 40 "stream" points). Note: pre requistes are included in this group. MEM50 series units do not have points and are allocated nominal hours. Contact should be made with the MMSITC for clarification in terms of the 96 points requirement for this trade outcome.

ELECTIVES: Specialisation electives units (Select 36 points (324 Hrs) in units drawn from MEM98 Specialisation band A units (including dual band A/band B units). Note that pre-requisite units point value may be included in the 36 points for electives. Below is a representation of some of the possible units that may be used in this selection.
