To be awarded a Diploma of Process Plant Technology, thirty two (32) units must be completed. Five (5) core units and twenty seven (27) other units. Please refer to the PMA02 Training Package for the full qualification requirements.

The outline below assumes the successful completion of a Certificate IV in Process Plant Technology.

PLEASE NOTE: Holders of a Certificate IV in Process Plant Technology will need an additional five (5) units of competency to those already recognised by the Certificate IV, if they have achieved competence in all required prerequisites. These additional 5 units must be chosen so that the total units, including those carried forward from a lower level qualification, comply with the rules in the PMA02 Training Package (version 2) for this qualification. People entering at this level must also achieve competence in any required prerequisite units, and these will be counted towards the 32 units.

Learners to complete sufficient other units to make up the required total. These must include at least 2 units from the 5XX series of PMA02 and a further 2 units from either the 4XX or 5XX series of PMA02, and may include a maximum of 6 relevant units from other endorsed Training Packages.
