This Skill Set covers preparing and producing welds to code standards using Flux Cored Arc welding.

The Coded Welding Skill will provide existing workers with the skills to be able to weld to the requirements of AS1796 and obtain certificate 8F from Weld Australia. Throughout this course participants will gain knowledge and skills on health and safety with Welding, setting and maintaining welding parameters, fillet welds and butt welds on plate at various positions. Preparing and setting up of pipe components, pipe welds within this course are performed by using weld rotators.

*Upon reaching competency the student will be eligible to apply for Welding Code Certification under AS1796 issued by Weld Australia

**In order to meet this code you need to conduct 2 welds, 1 Horizontal pipe axis and 2 Vertical Pipe Axis. These welds are sent off to a third party for X-ray.
