Description
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and manage materiel logistics operations. It includes identifying materiel logistics management requirements, and developing, applying and reviewing materiel logistics management operations. It also includes reviewing integrated logistics support operations to manage those operations throughout the materiel life cycle and to report on those operations in the organisational environment.This unit was developed for materiel logistics specialists working within materiel logistics roles but may be applicable to individuals in broader logistics roles.Individuals work independently or as part of a team under direct or indirect supervision, use discretion and judgement, and take responsibility for the quality of their outputs. All activities are carried out in accordance with relevant organisational policy and procedures.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1 Identify materiel logistics management requirements

  • 3.1 Materiel logistics risks and impacts are identified, recorded and managed

  • 3.4 Failures and variances are documented, reported and managed in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
  • 3.5 Participation and contribution to materiel logistics activities are established and maintained
4 Review materiel logistics operations
  • 4.1 Performance systems and processes are monitored and analysed to assess progress in achieving plans and targets
  • 4.2 Systems, procedures and records associated with documenting performance are managed in accordance with organisational requirements
  • 4.3 Materiel logistics operations are reviewed in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
  • 4.4 Changes required are identified and prepared in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
