Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to build digital supply chain capabilities in the workforce. It includes identifying supply chain workforce digital capabilities, developing a workforce digital capability plan, developing strategies to enhance workforce digital capabilities and reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain capabilities.Workforce capability is defined as an organisation's ability to accomplish its objectives and goals through the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies of its personnel. Building workforce capability in the use of, and engagement with, digital tools and equipment will require identifying knowledge and skill gaps. The unit is applicable to those with management or team leadership responsibilities within a supply chain.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1 Identify workforce digital capabilities
  • 1.1 Industry analysis to identify digital requirements in supply chains and the implications of these for workforce planning is undertaken
  • 1.2 Workforce digital knowledge and skill levels are identified and any gaps are mapped
  • 1.3 Organisational culture, policies, procedures, processes and structures are determined
2 Develop workforcedigital capability plan
  • 2.1 Rationale, goals and objectives for enhancing workforce digital supply chain capabilities are established
  • 2.2 Workforce digital capability strategy plan is developed
  • 2.3 Endorsement of workforce digital capability strategy plan and budget is obtained
  • 2.4 Rationale, goals and objectives of enhancing workforce digital supply chain capabilities are communicated to all approved stakeholders
  • 2.5 Workforce training plan is revised to include digital supply chain guidance and instruction
3 Implementstrategies to enhance workforce digital capabilities
  • 3.1 Training providers are evaluated and recommendations on partnering are made to approved personnel
  • 3.2 Public funding sources for workforce development support programs are reviewed and utilised, as required
  • 3.3 Workforce digital training plan is implemented
  • 3.4 Professional development opportunities to enhance digital skills and knowledge for supply chain leaders and managers within the organisation are implemented
