Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for operating raw material feed systems
  • 1.1. Access, interpret and apply raw material feed systems documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work instructions and shift changeover details before proceeding
  • 1.2. Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the activity
  • 1.3. Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
  • 1.4. Identify, address and report potential hazards, risks and environmental issues
  • 1.5. Communicate and coordinate activities with others throughout the work activity
  • 1.6. Perform pre-start-up checks
2. Deliver raw materials
  • 2.1. Clear conveyor belts at the earliest opportunity during emergency stop
  • 2.2. Empty conveyor belts prior to stopping
  • 2.3. Remove tramp metals from materials to prevent damage to equipment and conveyors
  • 2.4. Convey materials to bunkers minimising spillage
  • 2.5. Operate mobile and fixed equipment efficiently
