Police managers are required to understand leadership contexts, make legitimate decisions and provide transparent solutions to a wide range of complex problemsThe skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to, particularly those related to strategic business directives.Those undertaking this role would demonstrate strong autonomy when leading and developing individuals and teams, making strategic decisions and providing leadership to the jurisdiction. They would perform sophisticated tasks in a broad range of contexts.
