This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to specify complex installations in recreational vehicles, including evaluating installation requirements and developing, documenting and communicating an installation solution. Complex installations include solar panel and battery systems; Bluetooth/wi-fi device control and communication systems; and complex internal modifications, including those involving gas and all common electrical voltages.The unit applies to an experienced, post-trade worker in a recreational vehicle manufacturing or service and repair facility. In a manufacturing facility, they may specify a new, complex installation for an existing recreational vehicle product or support the development of a new product. In a service and repair facility, they may be involved in a major refurbishment of a recreational vehicle or upgrading its existing systems.The worker interprets and uses advanced technical information to develop solutions to potentially complex recreational vehicle requirements. They work independently and typically solve complex problems that require theoretical knowledge and experience about the specification, manufacture and installation of a wide range of recreational vehicle products. Job roles commonly involve leadership and supervisory responsibilities.No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication.
