Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for repair potholes operations
  • 1.1 Access, interpret and apply repair potholes documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  • 1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  • 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
  • 1.4 Select and wear correct personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
  • 1.5 Obtain, interpret, clarify and apply relevant drawings, job specifications and work instruction prior to proceeding
  • 1.6 Identify, obtain, confirm and implement signage requirements
  • 1.7 Select and check for faults all plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks
  • 1.8 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
2. Repair potholes
  • 2.1 Remove water and loose material from pothole or defective area
  • 2.2 Trim pothole/defect and ensure mechanical interlock of repair material
  • 2.3 Apply binder to provide adequate adhesion of repair material and waterproofing of repaired area
  • 2.4 Place and compact materials to specification
  • 2.5 Clean repaired area, remove excess loose materials, and apply sand or binding material where specified
3. Clean up
  • 3.1 Clear work area and recycle or dispose of materials
  • 3.2 Clean, check, maintain and store tools and equipment
