1. Plan and prepare for deck operations
  • 1.1. Access, interpret and apply documentation and procedures for carrying out deck operations and ensure the work activity is compliant
  • 1.2. Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  • 1.3. Identify and address potential hazards, risks and environmental issues and implement control measures
  • 1.4. Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate to the work activities
  • 1.5. Resolve coordination requirements with others at the site prior to, during and on completion of work activities and ensure briefings/handover details are communicated
  • 1.6. Confirm availability and status of necessary permits Confirm availability of necessary auxiliary utilities
2. Carry out deck operations
  • 2.1 Carry out deck operations safely
  • 2.2. Identify faults and take appropriate corrective actions within functional responsibility

3. Assist drill crew as directed
  • 3.1. Place and tier tubulures in racks
  • 3.2. Measure and label tubulures and record details
  • 3.3. Operate air tugger winches
  • 3.4. Assist with positioning blow out prevention (BOP) over moonpool
  • 3.5. Assists crane operator in supplying marine riser and moving tools to the drill floor
4. Operate pneumatic and electric power tools
  • 4.1. Operate pneumatic and electric power tools
  • 4.2. Identify faults with equipment and repair or report to relevant personnel
5. Provide labour for loading and discharge of helicopters as directed
  • 5.1. Use approved safety approach sectors for access to and from the aircraft
  • 5.2. Fuel aircraft under the direction of the aircraft captain and using approved fuelling procedures
  • 5.3. Lift/move baggage and cargo between rig and helicopter using correct lifting techniques
6. Provide labour for making up drilling mud
  • 6.1. Read, interpret, confirm and apply mud safety data sheet
  • 6.2. Apply correct lifting techniques for handling of sack material
7. Conduct housekeeping activities
  • 7.1. Clean, check, maintain and store plant, tools and equipment
  • 7.2. Report issues identified with plant, tools and equipment
