This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to validate the feasibility of information and communications technology (ICT) concepts in a variety of workplace contexts. It includes identifying concept technologies, evaluating factors that contribute to concepts, and applying strategies to mitigate risks associated with those factors.The unit applies to individuals who may work under direct supervision as technical support staff, and concept developers, who support the development and validation of concepts across ICT environments.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1. Prepare to develop proof of ICT concepts
  • 1.1 Confirm work brief and tasks according to organisational policies and procedures
  • 1.2 Review costs, timelines, operational capacities and resources in work brief
  • 1.3 Develop ICT concepts according to work brief
  • 1.4 Review test cases and document any limitations according to work brief
2. Evaluate and recommend technologies
  • 2.1 Research ICT components and technologies according to work brief

4. Validate test cases for proof of concepts

  • 4.3 Seek and implement feedback on test case validation from required personnel
