Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a contemporary view of the industry, identify potential career pathways and be aware of both the impact and opportunities that are being created by technological innovation and improved environmental management in the industry.The unit applies to individuals who are developing knowledge necessary for working in the forest and wood products industry, or for conveying the benefits of this industry and timber use to others.The unit has wide application and may be used in workplaces, schools, adult and community learning organisations or registered training organisations to develop the forest and wood products industry knowledge of individuals. The unit may also be used as part of pre-vocational or new apprenticeship programs.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
