Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Operate finishing equipment
  • 1.1 Procedures for start up and stopping of finishing equipment are correctly performed
  • 1.2 Safety requirements related to machine operation and protective clothing are followed
  • 1.3 Schedules are checked to ensure workplace requirements for quality and quantity are met
  • 1.4 Articles are classified and sorted according to finishing and rework requirements
  • 1.5 Articles are prepared for finishing in accordance with requirements
  • 1.6 Articles are correctly placed into or on finishing equipment
  • 1.7 Finishing equipment is correctly operated in accordance with workplace requirements for quality and quantity
  • 1.8 Machines are monitored and adjusted for correct operation in accordance with manufacturer specifications and OHS practices
  • 1.9 Workplace procedures and instructions are read and interpreted
  • 1.10 Machine problems or faults outside area of responsibility are reported to relevant personnel
2 Inspect articles
  • 2.1 Articles are inspected against quality standards
  • 2.2 Articles not meeting quality standards are returned for re-processing
  • 2.3 Damaged or torn articles are identified for repair or return in accordance with workplace procedures
  • 2.4 Knowledge of finishing processes are applied to perform tasks
