Description
This unit describes the ability to research and apply knowledge of piano technology to tuning, maintenance, repair and customer advice tasks. It includes knowledge of piano types, piano structures and materials, and the historical evolution of piano technology. Piano technologists with this competency use discretion, judgement and problem-solving to identify, communicate and implement technical solutions based on an understanding of piano history, construction, and technology. No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.
