This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to rehabilitate a landfill site. The unit covers reviewing site development plans to identify rehabilitation requirements and organising required plant, equipment, materials and personnel. The unit also covers recontouring the area; constructing soil profiles, drains and berms; and using gardening methods to plant flora according to rehabilitation plans.The unit supports those who work in lead roles in a waste management team.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement.
