Description
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to assess, implement and report environmental procedures.It includes assessing environmental requirements of specific projects or worksites and reviewing the application of environmental procedures. It also includes identifying and minimising the environmental impact of industry work activities, identifying general environmental risks and monitoring environmental procedures.Those undertaking this unit would work under indirect supervision, while performing mostly specific tasks in a range of contexts.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1 Assess environmentally sustainable requirements
  • 1.1 Identify and investigate environmental issues according to relevant legislation and standards
  • 1.2 Assess and record environmental risks and impacts and determine control measures
  • 1.3 Relate relevant environmental procedures for each environmental risk
2 Implement environmental procedures
  • 2.1 Plan activities for the selected environmental procedures for the worksite and take relevant action
  • 2.2 Record and report environmental incidents and implement environmental and emergency procedures
  • 2.3 Implement control measures according to workplace procedures
3 Report and review the application of environmental procedures
  • 3.1 Monitor the effects of selected environmental controls and report to relevant personnel
  • 3.2 Complete environmental reporting procedures for the specific project or worksite
  • 3.3 Report environmental risks, potential impacts and incidents according to workplace procedures
  • 3.4 Contribute to regular reviews of environmental procedures for continuous improvement
