This unit of competency defines the skills and knowledge required to apply scientific principles and techniques to identify and describe processing equipment in mineral and chemical processing plants from a metallurgical perspective.It requires application of scientific principles and techniques as a member of a design and development team or similar in support of specifying basic mineral extraction processes associated with metals production.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
