Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for operations
  • 1.1 Access, interpret and apply trip pipe documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  • 1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  • 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
  • 1.4 Select the personal protective equipment appropriate for the work activity
  • 1.5 Resolve coordination requirements with others at the site prior to commencing and during work activities and ensure briefings/handover details are read/passed on
  • 1.6 Confirm availability and status of necessary permits to work in accordance with operational and legislative requirements
  • 1.7 Confirm availability of necessary third party utilities in accordance with operational requirements
  • 1.8 Check safety lines, ropes and air hoists/winch lines
  • 1.9 Check equipment for safety and operations
2. Prepare to trip tubulars
  • 2.1 Line up trip tank if applicable to equipment in use
  • 2.2 Prepare pipe racking system
3. Trip and rack tubulars
  • 3.1 Assist in tripping in and out using correct techniques based on the lifting equipment and tripping method used
  • 3.2 Rack and store tubular based on the lifting equipment and tripping method used
  • 3.3 Record tasks where required
