1 Plan and prepare safety stock levels
  • 1.1 Optimum safety stock requirements are determined for forecast period
  • 1.2 Lead times and forecast accuracy are determined
  • 1.3 Safety stock is calculated using the agreed business model to satisfy service level
  • 1.4 Hazards are identified, risks are assessed and control measures are implemented
  • 1.5 Safety stock rotation procedures are implemented
2 Maintain safety stock levels
  • 2.1 Stock forecasts are reviewed to ensure accuracy and adjusted accordingly
  • 2.2 Safety stock levels are maintained and stored in accordance with workplace policies and procedures
  • 2.3 Safety stock levels are routinely checked for accuracy and variations investigated in accordance with workplace procedures
3 Review safety stock system
  • 3.1 Safety stock level selection input data is reviewed for discrepancies regarding target outcomes
  • 3.2 Improvements of safety stock system are reviewed and variables affecting discrepancies identified
  • 3.3 Required improvements are reported in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
