This unit describes the skills required to dispose of high risk and high value government assets, including government businesses, property, strategic infrastructure, intellectual property and other high value items. It includes identifying strategic assets for disposal, developing a disposal plan for divesting strategic assets, divesting the assets and evaluating the divestment activity.This unit applies to those working in roles involving assessment of strategic assets.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Those undertaking this unit will be working independently, and as part of a team, while performing routine tasks in familiar context.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.
