Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for installing noise barriers
  • 1.1 Access, interpret and apply noise barrier installation documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  • 1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  • 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
  • 1.4 Select and wear correct personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
  • 1.5 Identify, obtain, confirm and implement signage requirements
  • 1.6 Select and check for faults all plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks
  • 1.7 Survey work area for loading and unloading and stock-piling materials
  • 1.8 Assess plant and crane capabilities as required
2. Erect noise barriers
  • 2.1 Set out position of noise barrier line and post holes, and excavate to specifications
  • 2.2 Install base section
  • 2.3 Install uprights plumb and to alignment
  • 2.4 Fit and fix rails, cladding or panels
3. Clean up
  • 3.1 Clear work area and recycle or dispose of materials
  • 3.2 Store and stack unused materials
  • 3.3 Clean, check, maintain and store plant, tools and equipment
